PocketWizard challenges Chinese manufacturer of patents

The creators of LPA Design PocketWizard has filed a petition for patent infringement against Hong Kong based manufacturer Phottix. LPA Design is supporting communications transceiver radio and automatic switching technologies first introduced in the PocketWizard Plus II wireless triggers are used by the last trigger the Phottix.

Wireless flash trigger alleged Phottix Atlas

CA . Burlington, VT –-11 January 2011 LPA Design has filed a complaint for patent infringement in the United States District Court for the District of Vermont against Phottix (HK) Ltd. and everlasting Fortune (HK) Ltd., arguing that the wireless flash triggers Phottix Atlas produced in China violate two patents held by LPA Design. The Vermont-based company, incorporated as the lab Partners Associates, Inc., is the producer of PocketWizard ?-the leader in the field of wireless devices with high accuracy for the professional photography market, including the popular PocketWizard Plus II ?.

PocketWizard technology allows photographers to control complex lighting systems remotely from a camera body. It is particularly useful in the study, sports and event photography and has become the industry standard of constant research and development carried out in Vermont.
